New Testament - Too Embarrassing to be False. Frank Turek looks at the traditional evidence in support of New Testament integrity, including manuscripts, history, archaeology, and prophecy. Frank also looks at the recorded accounts themselves, which portray events too embarrassing for the followers of Jesus to be made up. • considering the astronomically low opinion of women back in those days I do not find this hard to believe.

  • @MoonwalkerWorshiper You ask me to mature???? I've seen your profile - michael jackson worshipper ... ok, whatever, you win, you are so much more mature than everyone else. Go do a moon walk or something or sleep with a chimp. Go bother someone else loser

  • @asgardian001 [I never said anything about the entire truthfulness of the scriptures only that Turek's reasoning was flawed.]

This is the problem: you're saying that Turek's reasoning is flawed, because you have decided that he expects you to believe these Bible stories are true because they are embarrasing to the authors. No. He's giving you GOOD REASONS to DISMISS them as wishfulthinking stories. It might put you in a more neutral position to begin with. Instead of being biggotred and biased.

  • @asgardian001 [just because they were embarrassing does not make them true]

Listen dude, NOBODY is saying that either but YOU. I don't get why people like you can watch this, and then get completely hung up over something that simply does NOT exist within the video.

Like "we ought to believe the Bible because in some pieces, there are things written that is embarrassing to the authors". Nobody is SAYING that. Wake up from your bitter atheistic daydreaming and LISTEN.

  • @asgardian001 [The reason I wanted to insult Turek is because, as I posted before, he comes across as a glitzy smug evangelist]

You realize that this is circular right? You wanted to insult Turek because he's a glitzy smug evangelist? I want to call you an asshole because you are an asshole and whoopie I win the argument and the ad hominem is totally relevant. But for fucking sakes MATURE!

  • @MoonwalkerWorshiper (cont.,)

Now refer back to my original post - I bowled over his argument by using examples of over obviously false accounts that were embarrassing to the authors - just because they were embarrassing does not make them true. I never said anything about the entire truthfulness of the scriptures only that Turek's reasoning was flawed.

Anyway I am saying the same thing over and over again but for some reason you are using strawman arguments. Maybe move on to someone else yeah?

  • @MoonwalkerWorshiper I can insult Turek all I like as you can insult whoever you like. Insult me and I may choose not to respond to you and I would probably expect the same if I insulted you. The reason I wanted to insult Turek is because, as I posted before, he comes across as a glitzy smug evangelist who tries to convey his argument through showmanship rather than critical discourse.

  • @asgardian001 (3) Feel free to explain to me like an ADULT these two things:

So appearantly I can't ask you to pay attention to a guy like Turek that holds a lecture, because then I would be appealing to authority, and since I'm not allowed to do that, it makes you perfectly entitled to insult Turek and spew condescending remarks because that's how it goes by default. Nice.

And then you assume that THIS point Turek made, is suppose to prove the ENTIRE TRUTHFULNESS of these scriptures. Why?

  • @asgardian001 [I gave a compelling example of embarrassing accounts (such as alien abductions) which most likely are not true.]

They are most likely not true because there are no evidence for them. Turek is trying to give evidence for Christianity.

[Just because they are embarrassing accounts by the author does not make them true accounts.]

But it indicates that we shouldn't jump to conclusion that they are made up. That's the point of this video.

  • @asgardian001 [Frank Turek is an authority just because he hold lectures]

See, you're claiming he has the intelligence of a peanut (which is ad hominem) while I'm just saying maybe you should try respect the guy when everybody else are listening to him, and apperantly my civile way of thinking is an appeal to authority, well be it then.

[I cast an ad hominem to Frank Turek - not at you. There is a difference.]

Your attack on Turek is not a valid argument.
