Warning: This video is not for pansies!

I made the first part of this video almost 2 years ago, and I felt like there were a few of my favorite heavy riffs that I left out, not to mention new ones were released since I made that video!

Pretend this is an alternate universe where the original 15 riffs don't exist...then get your mind blown and face melted by how awesome these are!

  • symphony x iconoclast is definitely full of badass riffs. one of my favorite current cd's.

  • @cardsfanatic

Totally agree. I can safely now say that it is my favorite CD...ever. Dream Theater will probably always be my favorite band, but man - Symphony X hit the nail on the head with that CD. The only song I don't like on it is "The Lords of Chaos," but every single other song on it is so far above average.

  • I respect your musical tastes but you shouldn't present these riffs as being the "sickest, ugliest, heaviest" (and so forth) because they are definitely not. If you want some heavy and sick shit, go listen some more death or black metal.

Wow, I knew I would get comments like yours (since I had them on the last video), but I didn't expect them so fast!

The thing about this video is that these riffs are still part of songs that can be considered "music." The stuff you're referring to (I assume like Cannibal Corpse/Belphegor/Dying Fetus) is just noise to me, and I have no interest in obtaining a headache.

  • @SnareSpectre Fine by me, but i was surprised by the riffs you put in this video, which - considered inside the whole metal genre - are quite soft. Maybe you should introduce your video differently. Heavy riffs : ok, ulgiest and sickest : misleading information.

This settles the argument, i'm not trolling here or anything. And by the way, thanks for the "drum mic" videos.

  • @2019sickness2019

I used all those terms to describe these riffs, including "grooviest." Heavy isn't heavy without a groove that makes you want to headbang in my opinion, and I've never found any sort of groove in death metal. I could always just record static and call it the heaviest riff in the world because it has "the most distortion" :)

Don't worry, I don't think you're trolling - when I put up a subjective video like this, I expect naysayers. Glad you liked the drum mic videos!

  • @2019sickness2019 yea DYING FETUS!

  • You and I are on the same page as far as what the definition of a heavy riff is. This video would be way more awesome if I could hear it at about 50 decibels higher than my computer will allow.

  • when i heard the 1st 20 seconds, i have confidence it was Korn 'cause i can tell by their ol' school sound :)
