Back in July, I had a show at Open Architects. The show was only days away, and I needed one more painting to fill the space, and I needed to get it done fast!
I waned to do the whole painting in one continuous burst, but my technique requires that one layer dries before the next is applied.
But I can fake it!
I paused the camera as I got up to let the paint dry, then resumed the timelapse while I got back to painting an hour later. I had to change angles near the end when my battery died and I had to switch it out with a fresh one.
This painting is a little more representational than most of my work in this series. It's still a combination of 5 separate photographs, but they all fit together so well, my post production trickery is nearly invisible in the sketch.
