MTV was always shit.This video is great,but this is not an accurate representation of what they usually played.They played shit like Madonna and John Cougar Mellencamp and other monstrosities too horrible to mention.I still wanna fuck Martha Quinn,though.

You know what happened to it? People who liked rap started watching MtV more than we did. After a while the executives decided our tastes weren't profitable enough, so they ditched all the programming for the garbage you've been referring to. Thank God we got youtube, eh?

What happened to MTV?? What happened was that they allowed Yo Rap Gangsta bullshit to become the end-all be-all of everything MTV did. It was nonstop for over a decade and it put awesome bands like the Butthole Surfers and the rest right off the screen.

It was utterly fucking disgusting. Everything went away except yo rap bullshit.

Well, for a brief shining moment we really had something there though.

My Uncle's cousin's friend once told me that MTV used to have music videos. He coulda been pulling my chain but I dont know.
