I think this video is pretty self-explanatory. But, in case some people need a little background information, here it is:

After failing the Warped Wall of NinjaFest 4 in Santa Monica a few months ago, I returned home absolutely determined to never fail on that particular obstacle again. I found a local skating park with the perfect "warped wall" design to train on. The only problem: It wasn't high enough. The wall of the skate park measures just over 14 feet in height from the base, about 2 to 2-1/2 feet short of the Warped Wall obstacle of Ninja Warrior.

I wasted no time in making my own personal extension of the wall. Honestly, it wasn't all that difficult to do. The total cost for the 24-feet of 2x4's came to about $15.00. Then, breaking out my trusty tools, I had the structure completely pounded out and finished in a matter of a couple of hours.

As I mention in the video, at the structure's maximum height, it's pretty much EXACTLY the height of the Ninja Warrior Warped Wall obstacle. When I compete in California for G4's "American Ninja Warrior Challenge" at the end of this month, there's no way I'm going to fail on that obstacle again.

  • Sure, you are getting your hands high enough to reach the top of the added height, but then you raise your body only to the height of the existing wall. You should make it wider and try lifting yourself up and over it rather than just beside it. Just my thoughts.

    No when you do a proper training without shoes its more efficient and your flow is WAY better also your ankles are getting Way stronger ! but you be carefull :)

  • I have never seen a free runner run without shoes. Shoes are tools used to make commuting more comfortable and efficient ..just like a bike
