Second year university project for Mechatronics Systems. We set out to build a 4-rotor UAV, but never got as far as untethered and self stabilized flight, and the safety case was too heavy so it got sliced up. It was 'controlled' by a person with a PS2 controller. In a later demonstration to a class, the thing flipped over and cut through one of the rope restraints...
I think it's still somewhere in the mechatronics lab room at UWA, already missing a motor and waiting to be scrapped for parts.
