This video demonstrates both Suwari-waza, or, Aikido executed by a kneeling person while the opponent is standing, and Hamni-handachi, where both the opponent and the person practicing the technique are kneeling.

This video was shot at Aikido of Manhattan (http://www.aikidoofmanhattan.com). Juba Nour Sensei, Aikido of Manhattan's chief instructor, demonstrates various techniques.

  • Yes, the moves look brutal, but the "attacks" don't look anything like real attacks, so this is all just posturing.

  • Sensei Joe Thambu it ain't

  • I would like to point out at tori's feet towards the end... flat... that's not correct.

  • I miss Aikido :)

  • I do some sloppy forms of this to subdue my sons when they get alittle out of hand. I miss not going back into Ki-Aikido. I love the lack of negativity/aggression.

  • Ouch! It's great to see real Aikidoists working hard.

  • @srv1491 that's kata gatame

  • what's the name of the technique at 0:54?

  • Great Uke!

  • Muy tosco. Tiene el centro muy alto.
