On May 28th, the Barrett Campaign released its sixth ad, "Kick." The ad highlights Gresham Barrett's conservative record and his experience as a captain in the U.S. Army.
Not racist t all... here is the bottom line: there's a murder, someone is arrested, they are found to be an illegal immigrant - send 'em home. I am NOT republican, but I want a safe homeland. This is NOT about going door to door and sending innocent people back...this is about sending THUGS back! Said it once and I'll say it again, sounds like a LOT of Tea Party brats at work here,,,I actually KNOW Gresham personally and have spent time with him....HAVE YOU?
@swheat100 um how the "general" was going to say kick ass..... but instead illegal immigrants out of the state.... how is that not racist? he could have said that he was for taking them out of the state, but to say it in such a derrogatory manner is blatantly racist
Whatever the case, it is shameful for Congressman Barrett to use the uniform of the United States Army for his own self-aggrandizement and worse yet to mischaracterize his service by claiming to be retired.
Worse yet, the ad uses some unknown person in a Drill Instructor Uniform. If that person is a soldier, he is in violation of both Army regulations and the Hatch Act (a Federal Statute), if he is simply an actor, he is also in violation of any number of statutes by impersonating a soldier. If he's one of those Citadel cadre authorized to wear the uniform, he's using it for an unauthorized purpose and is also a State Employee endorsing a partisan candidate.
I just watched this Gresham Barrett ad where the caption showed him as "Captain, US Army (ret)". Gresham Barrett served 4 years in the US Army and resigned his commission. He is not retired and not entitled to use that title.
Members of the Armed Forces are not allowed to endorse political candidates in fact they can not show up at political rallies in uniform as it violates the Uniform Code of Military Justice. In this add you imply a drill sergeant endorses your candidacy. As an officer in the military you should know better than this. I spent 22 years in the Army and I do. Tried to post this on your website but I guess this wasn't the type of comment you were looking for.

Vote Nikki Haley... This is the worst ass-kissing to the base ad I've ever seen... Desperate hail mary. No more of the old-guard.
