In reality it was only a true rivalry for about a year or so, when Sabatini gained the upper hand from 1990-91. But consider this: Steffi beat Sabatini the first 11 times they played!. And if that wasn't enough, Steffi got rid of Sabatini the final 8 times they played!. So it doesn't sound like much of a rivalry to me, since Steffi handled Sabatini for the most part.

If anything, Monica was a greater rival for Steffi, not Sabatini.

Part of the reason sabatini beat graf more than anyone else was due to the fact she played her so much, in reality when steffi was on her game sabaitini didn't stand much of a chance, saying that though sabaitin was a joy to watch and did push steffi in the early 90's
