Eastern Ministers Guitar Band-Nwaka Ego. The Eastern Ministers Guitar band were an igbo highlife band hailing from Owerri. Led by the late John Ikediala, they had a number of hits including: " Uwa Tuto Uwa Fufu"and " Ariri Otu Nwa", but I think this song was their most popular hit. If you want more information on this band and music within this genre check out: http://likembe.blogspot.com/2008/10/highlife-obscurities.html. At this blog you can download the two songs mentioned above and many other good songs. If anyone has information on John Ikediala, the other music he made, or the eastern minstrels track "Selense" please coment or send me a message. I put a translation at the bottom of the page, it's not what I would consider a great translation, but I don't speak owerri dialect and i barely understand it, but if someone out there has a better translation than I do, feel free to put it up.

  • Well here is my rough translation, and hopefully it helps. " You cannot buy a child with money, some people may be rich in wealth but without kids that wealth is useless. If you don't have a child you will be unhappy, and money is only a material object. Money cannot talk, or do anything a human being can, and that's why although some people may not be financially rich, it is better to be rich in family." I don't know if that's the best translation, but I tried.

  • WOOH1! MY GOD ,WHERE DID U FIND CLASSIC? ALL THE SAME, TANX SO MUCH 4 THIS.

  • I love this music so much, the beatings and the wordings. But I would wish this particular music be reproduced, this time with a prolonged time instead of 3 minutes which is rather too short for this kind of sweet music.

  • Great music for the real people of Igbos. It reminds me my days in Inyishi working in our farm. How can I get IBc here in States

  • Great tune of then Imo Broadcasting Service (IBS), loving memories of Governor Sam Mbakwe, Nnamdi Olebara, keep the good things coming and please post more of these.............thanks!

  • This has just little to do with a track in the oriental brother's song. A big surprise i heard their songs on you tube. This song is good for we africans not white. It is good in both sides. If you have any of these persons a parasite, it could be better you stay without any either. Let's get money first i suggest children hate poor parents because they cannot compet with other children.

  • A yr ago and i am just hearing it now. Where was i?
