* english follows ~ À travers ses créations, qui incorporent projection, sculpture et vidéo, Matthew Biederman examine la perception, fabrication et classification des couleurs qui structurent nos vies contemporaines, tout particulièrement dans le contexte informatisé et médiatisé de notre quotidien. Ainsi, dans R + G + B, il déconstruit les couleurs qui remplissent nos écrans dordinateurs en énumérant rapidement leurs codes informatiques des proportions calculées de rouge, vert et bleu pour en questionner leur existence véritable.
Depuis avoir complété un Bac en Arts Plastiques de la Northern Illinois University en 1995, Matthew Biederman a performé et participé à de nombreux projets artistiques à travers la monde, en autre, à des installations publiques à la SCAPE Biennal of Art in Public Space, en Nouvelle Zélande, à des interventions publiques à Montréal et à des performances audiovisuelles à Rio de Janeiro, Paris et San Francisco. Alors quil complète une maîtrise en Arts Plastiques à lUniversité de Concordia de Montréal, il a récemment reçu une subvention des fonds culturels de lUnion européenne pour son travail sur The Arctic Perspective Initiative, et une résidence dartiste du Festival AV de Newcastle en Grande Bretagne.

Multimedia artist Matthew Biederman mixes projection, sculpture and video, and addresses notions dealing with the perception, fabrication and classification of the colours that structure contemporary existence in the context of our computerized and mediatized daily life. Thus, in R + G + B, he deconstructs the colours that fill our computer screens into rapidly shifting data codes numbered proportions of red, green, blue to question their true existence.
Since graduating from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1995, Matthew Biederman has performed and participated in numerous art projects, commissions, seminars and exhibitions internationally, including public installations at New Zealands SCAPE Biennal of Art in Public Space, public interventions in Montreal and audiovisual performances in Rio de Janeiro, Paris and San Francisco. Presently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, he has recently been awarded funding from the European Union Cultural Funding for work on the Arctic Perspective Initiative, and artist residencies at the AV festival in Newcastle (United Kingdom).
