Also known as White-rumped Shama Thrush or Shama Thrush.....Rich, melodious, loud and clear voice with a variety of phrases, and often mimics other birds and in this particular case; mimicking a "rooster's crow"...Popularly known as Murai Batu and priced as caged pets in the South and Southeast Asean Regions particularly in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. They are considered an invasive species, eating native insect species and showing aggression towards native bird species.One of the first recordings of a bird song that was ever made was of this species.
