coyote hunting-dead coyote- Levi's Double

On our last call stand for the day, I started out using three subordinate howls...this coyote came to the howls to investigate...Levi shot the 1st coyote @ 150 yds...I called more -- using rabbit distress and ki-yi's...another coyote appeared from the west and picked up the dead coyotes scent...Levi missed once...I used ki-yi's again and the 2nd coyote came back and was shot 4 ft from the first one...Hevi-Shot Predator Field Staffers Caller/Cameraman Bobby Guzman...Shooter Levi Dixon

@friedmarlin5 I have recently worked with Brent Reub out of St. Francis, Ks. to develop an open reed call to match as closely as we can, the specs of my tuned open reed call. Hey, first great double !!!! I'm just starting out cotote hunting and I don't know what a "ki-yi's" call is. Can you tell us what Brand/Model of all calls you use ? Thanks.

@friedmarlin5 "ki-yi" is the term used to describe the sound of a coyote " yelping" or a term for coyote distress vocalization. it's a short series of high pitch yelps that work well to stir another coyote's curiosity or to stop a coyote for a follow-up shot after a miss or like in this case, to bring in a second coyote into shooting range. It's the sound you hear in this video after the miss on the second coyote. I use an open reed call that I have modified to my personal preferences.
