He hits it with his instep. Pay attention to his leg, it is rotated, just like an inside pass.
The difference, is that he stretches his foot completely out, and his drawback is also like a shot, and not like an inside pass...
So what you do, is you pull your leg back as a normal lace-shot, and while you swing it, you rotate it into the position you see in this video.

lol why do people care so much of the conntact technique with the ball. There are hundrets of conntact techniques. Beckham have his, maradona had his, etc. It dosent matter how you struck the ball, the importance is were it ends up and how frequent. Hit the upper corner of the goal from 30meter, 9 out of 10 times and you are a good striker
