Although they rate a high dingbat factor, nothing quite captures the imagination like a flying car. At EAA AirVenture on Sunday, the Experimental Aircraft Association sponsored a unique flying car "drive-in" at — where else? — a 1950s-style drive-in with curb service. AVweb was there.

  • I want to see them fly!!

  • It is mildly unsettling to imagine many of the erratic, foolhardy motorists I encounter on the freeway taking to the air.

  • The question is Will it Fly?

  • @radbcc You should really think before you troll. The Terrafugia is a multi-purpose vehicle that can drive on the road as well as fly in the air. There are still cars today that can go down a boat ramp & drive on the lake. Take 3-d printers for example when a guy copied his stainless steel wrench & made 1 from a 3-d printer. I or you don't really know if that 3-d copy of a real wrench withstand the same crushing force as a stainless steel hammer.

  • fly

  • @radbcc camera/phone works, all-in-1 printers work, macs are all-in-1,

Multi-purpose products work just fine if they are done correctly.

  • Nobody invited Terrafugia?

  • @bagelboi66 Most certificated pilots aren't much better.

  • Creative. But, isn't it true that throughout history multi-purpose products rarely prove effective? Do we really want a toaster/phone?
