  • When I was filmed in the video it cost me $50. I know that the slots filled up so quickly that the second time they did this the price went up. Last I heard it was $100. That being said it was one of the best experiences of my life. Well worth it at any price.

  • EPICALLY EPIC WIN!!!!!!

  • i hope i drive nkp 765 someday

  • Now that would be an experience I'd kill for. How old were you when you did this?

  • WICKED!!!

  • Awesome!

  • YOu are lucky they usually dont let people drive the 765 anymore for the engioner for an hour program, they use a diesle for that I think, last I checked but you never know, I have sat in her seat at her home while on a tour with mr byers from the society. now the program is about 150 I think.

  • As a future steam operator, i want to say that u are one lucky S.O.B... Operating what i think is the greatest steam locomtoive ever produced. Lima Locomotive Works was great period, but the Berkshire jus takes the case. All steam is great though. Thanku TONZ for sharing!!!!!!! Id do amazing things to be in your shoes

  • you are lucky you got a chance to do this i would pay $!00 bucks for sure just to say i got to feel what its like to drive a classic steamer if i could pick only one loco to do this in i would have to be the N&W j class #611 that would be it for sure 5 stars me friend!!!

  • In Cleveland around 1957, I was about 5 years old and used to love watching the locomotives (Berkshires, but I didn't know that until later in life) pulling their high speed freight trains along the NKP mainline that crossed W112th Street. As kids would do, we all waved to the engineer and hoped to hear that steam whistle. I wanted to be an engineer, when I grew up, more than anything. In this video, the engineer mentions the unique sound of the whistle and I still remember it to this day.

  • Ignore cockroach he says that on all the steam locomotive videos he runs across, I had a flame war with him last year over when they were moving one of the big boy locos on video, or better yet find him and crush him like the cockroach he is, seriously though videos about 765 say she was the first one restored to service by a non profit in the nation, on top of the fact north indiana has railroade history in her blood especialy in Garrett where my Grandfather was an engineer on the B&O
