Not a Compliment to a Trans Person

A collection of some of the non-compliments, or nonpliments, that I get from people sometimes for being trans. Why are people always so surprised to find out we transgender people actually look quite alright... you know, human... good-looking even.
These three gems are just the most recent ones I've had the misfortune of receiving. But don't worry. There's more where that came from... Brace! Brace!

This kinda ties in to this topic I guess, but seriously: If I hadn't checked your profile, I'd never guessed that you're dutch. Your english is simply fucking perfect!

BTW, I've grown up about 15km from the dutch border (on the german side - please don't hold that against me! :D ) and so I've pretty much always known a little bit of dutch. I still don't really *speak* it, but understand most of it - and I fucking LOVE the Dutch language. It's just so adorable! :-D

I know plenty of people, trans or otherwise, who would make a brisk U-turn at "let's talk about your feelings." But I get what you mean and the sentiment is very much appreciated. :)

'Transsexual' is an adjective. I'm not 'a transsexual' but a transsexual woman. Or, do you call someone, say, 'a black'?

Also, just to make it clear, 'tr*nny' is not for trans men to reclaim. If a trans woman chooses to do so, go the fuck ahead! However, I will physically harm anyone who calls me a tr*nny.

I guess that the third one is akin to assuming that that person had plastic surgery or the like. My friend got her boobs done and when she tells people their response is, "they came out very well," lmao. Of course this is usually in bar settings though. That's a normal response to any type of cosmetic surgery or alteration. Hell I am guilty of that one, but only if someone tells me they've specifically had surgery (I don't go around assuming things like that, which would be incredibly rude and

Oh my god! I really like this :D I had few cis-people insulting me saying I don't look like "real man" or I look like "a little 9 years boy" and calling me a "dyke" which they believe gender and sexuality are the "same thing". It gets me so angry when it happens... But I try not to let it get to me. I'll sometimes look for the humor what transphobic bigots would say and move on.
