Yeah, $2,254 was a great price...unless you made only $5,000 a year, like average workers earned back then! My dad was a high-paid executive at a whopping $200 a week. Lawrence Welk was known to be tight with a buck...he paid scale to all of his performers...so this cast, entirely from the Welk show, likely made similar salaries, and got nothing extra for appearing in spots like these.
