Larrocha's playing thrills me as much as it first did when I heard it on the radio in Habana, long ago. What could be more appropriate than that these performances should be placed here by a gentleman who is himself a most accomplished pianist? I recall that the 1963 or 1964 disc that this superb interpretation of Schubert's Marche Militaire appeared on also had equally-superb performances of Mozart's K331 (3) Alla Turca and Beethoven's Fur Elisa. If only someone would post those here...

The more I listen to de Larrocha the more I think she had the best voicing and pedaling in the business. Just superb.
