  • Couldn't someone engineer a more recent video?

  • You can do almost everything as a mechanical engineer, every machine can be designed by a Mech-E. :)

  • Enginners spend much of there day planning to kill someone in accounting who tries to nicke and dime their designs. The other part of our day is spent trying to design a decent coffee maker.

We also have the coolest desk toys and really hip pocket protectors.

  • @MrFTW733 There are several avenues for the ME, like process development, mfg engineering, quality, etc. If you become a Design Engineer, you're somewhat a professional inventor. We do get to make things work. I usually insist on building my own prototypes to learn about their idiosycracies first-hand. Be prepared to become very analytical as a critical thinker.

  • @SKILLErElvurn If you have a penchant to understand machines, you'll find ME work fascinating. She's right that MEing is the broadest discipline; I've been involved with optics, control circuits, automation, life sciences & robotics for 34 years as an ME. When my son asked for advice about his education, I suggested adding EE to his curriculum, which he did, so he's now a Mechatronic Engineer working on a PhD in computer engineering. See my channel for an example of ME work.

  • 0:00-0:04....NO SHIT SHERLOCK

  • @rock3tcat More like anything that moves can be designed my a Mech-E
