Maybe it's the east German lines. All I know is, German line sometimes have roaching backs.
American lines tend to have saggy hips and overly slanted backs, or roached. I agree 100%, I lovethe working lines more than the show lines!

Actually West German Shepherds don't have backs like that. The American GSDs and the ones bred for show are bred to look like that and it's called overstylization. I don't agree with that look either as it is one of the main reason they get hip dysplasia. I like it when the German Shepherd is bred to do what they were meant to, which is work and that requires strong hocks:).

Thank you for the video. Oh to have a puppy from Zamp the Champ. Still, we are very fortunate to have a grandson from Quenn Vom Loher Weg who is only 11 months old now and is stunning as well as intelligent.

My Mum just got a German Shepherd puppy about 2 months ago, she's in Texas though and I'm in Canada(I'm totally jealous, lol). I would love to have a GSD someday, though. These GSDs were amazing. I've always loved their soulful eyes..

That's so cool, your mom must be very happy:)!
I've always wanted a GSD too. And they really do have these very expressive brown eyes that seem to have a little sparkle when they look at you :)
