I wish Hitchens had completed his implicit point [and Marx's], that the belief in god is only for the weak because it perpetuates weakness by its justification of the weak. He never quiiite states it explicitly.

hitchslap!

@hotbovril there is no argument from the other side... Its only to watch Hitch use his awesome logic and humor to destroy them.

4:40 This, of the many, is one of my favourite parts from Hitch. The responses are expectedly fatuous, and deserve no further mention. No serious, thinking person coul glaze over such a rebuttal to such a question. Well thought out and brilliantly delivered, I dearly miss this man.

I think I have just realised Hitchens' prime virtue: I know I wouldn't have the patience to sit there listening to that rubbish, knowing that everyone in the audience buys it.
-
@bendoublett What a wonderfully unreasonable mind you have.
-
@hotbovril Well if u want to understand the response u have to listen to the question , don't ya? So whats the prob.

This is the video where Hitchens gave me my freedom. RIP

Ok, I understand the concept of free speech, freedom of faith, etc., but I think it should be legalized that once some pastor like the bearded dude tells you what's he's saying at the end of the video, you're entitled to punch him in the face.
And he's not allowed to resist. Because Heaven "would make it right some day"!
It troubles me that the most popular comment is one that promotes skipping the opposition arguement. What is the point of a debate if you only listen to the man who supports your view-point?
p.s. I am atheist
