  • This is great for two reasons. First, I love Ravel's Tombeau. Second, I love the guitar. Do you have plans to arrange the remaining three movements? I'd love to hear a performance of all six movements.

  • Thanks for the comment. I arranged a total of three movements, the prelude, minuet, and rigaudon. I've posted all from this one performance. As for as I know, this is the only arrangement of the minuet and rigaudon for two guitars. The prelude had been arranged and recorded by the excellent electric guitarist Marc Bonilla which inspired these arrangments.

  • This is a sad performance of this piece.Their phrasing is as an electronic digitally sampled metronome is to lemon meringue pie...totally obtuse and inexpressive.

  • I think you are mistaken and your mind is clouded by tradition which limits your ability to really listen. You have a conceptual image of this music that is inseparable from how it sounds on the piano. You are only hearing that (: Not them.

  • Come on guys! Are you serious? Of course this isn't as "good" the real piano or orchestra, but a lot of the classical guitar repertoire consists of transcriptions.

  • can not be compared to a full orchestra

  • I do. I usually listen to piano rather than orchestra version, and my favs are M.Argerich and S.François as soloists. They indeed do play faster and with more violence, which goes well with Ravel tormented, nostalgic and secret personality. This guitar version is sweet though, just different, inexpressive and sad is a cruel comment.

  • ClassicalMusicReview is correct. Jesus man, are you even familiar with this piece at all? Listen to it done RIGHT, like the version conducted by Jean Martinon. This peice needs to be played quite a bit faster. They had the potential to do a good job, but they lost it in their choice of dynamics.

  • Jim73acv, I'm with you on this one. I enjoy this guitar version and pompous faggots like ClassicalMusicReview show up with their attitude...

  • Sounds pretty lively to me of an orchestral piece, glad they put this one up. People should get more classical guitar gems like this one.

  • umm ok
