It's big, it's bad, and it's... BLUE! It's RBM&N's reciently restored 4-6-2 Pacific, #425, and she's back and better than ever. Painted in a classy blue and gold paint scheme, the engine is certainly an eye-grabber, as it races down the R&N main. We'll watch as the crew cleans the locomotive and prepares the 425 for its journey, and then, we'll take you trackside, to witness this historic event. So come along, as we follow the 'Four-and-a-Quarter' to Jim Thorpe.

  • Too much blue. Too much yellow. Too much damn bell!

  • Someone should repaint a Pacific locomotive Like NJ's Central Pacific Blue Comets

  • wow, alot of hours into the paint and detail. looks like a Comet. need to paint the cars the same color! what a beautiful site. Love it

  • looks like this one was a PRR engine. and it seems to uses two tenders. if the first tender hauls coal then the second one contains water. right?

who runs this railroad? if PRR (and subsequently Penn Central) is no more. is it CSX or Conrail?

  • Beautiful just beautiful.

  • Excellent video but, alas, the bell was ringing too much. I know I know, FRA regulations and insurance require it but it was on a little too much. Great video though...

  • some few locomotives don't waste the air: the millions of cars waste the air!!!60, 70 years ago the air was much much better than now all the world knows.

  • the film unstoppable would have been a whole lot different with one of these on a run :L

  • It reminds me of the blue comet

  • @fafnir242 At least not here in America. They have quite a few painted steamers in the UK and elsewhere.
