Sustainability in Healthcare

Representing the largest employment sector in the Pittsburgh region, healthcare and life sciences is an apt industry to target sustainability education and outreach efforts. That's why the next Sustainable Pittsburgh Champions for Sustainably workshop will focus on the nexus of healthcare and sustainability. Two members of the planning committee, Phyllis Barber, sustainability coordinator with Highmark and Michelle Naccarati-Chapkis, executive director of Women for a Healthy Environment recently sat down to discuss how the region's healthcare sector can become more sustainable.
