The tithe, according to scripture, is food (either livestock or crops) it was never money. Not all in Israel paid tithes, only farmers. There has 2 b a distinction btwn the tithe & giving. The 2 r not the same. In addition, since the chrch justifies paying tithes by the fact that it is mentioned n the bible, thn if we r 2 use the bible as our guide, we shuld be paying as much as 25% in tithes, not only 10%. Our tithes shuld b paid n either fruits, veggies, or livestock, not money.

you gentlemen are 100% correct. There is nothing wrong with giving 10% of your income. The problem is when pastors twist the scritpures to compel the congregants to tithe. Ironically, most of these churches believe that we are in the dispensation of Grace, meaning that we are no longer bound by the Mosaic Law. If so, then how do you cherry pick TITHING, which was under the Law of Moses, but conveniently neglect the other OT mandates. This is where the deception lies. God Bless!

@ogcmike I have enjoyed the teaching in your videos especially those about baptism,because i was raised in the CoC and when i got older and accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior,He showed me the truth as opposed to the DOCTRINE of the CoC.I thank God He led me to the church I belong to where my pastor teaches straight from the word of God and not according to doctrine

I just discovered these videos and I agree about manipulation by some pastors,but as far as the scripture in Malachi,speaking for MYSELF I've seen over and over the benifits of tithing and not always about money,and I have seen the consequences of not tithing consistantly,so as for me and my house we will continue our tithing...

Usually in scripture there are thing that are under the law like certain foods that Jews were restricted to eat, and other scriptures will point out why we are not bound by that law, but there is nothing that says we should pay less than our tithe. Every scripture I usually hear suggest we should be paying more. Sow sparringly reap sparringly does not suggest less.

I do not agree with the manipulation of thithing either, however to say that tithing is only of the law is not biblical. Abram and Jacob were both before the law and paid tithes. All over the Bible the Lord rejected offering that was not of our best. Cain was rejected, and Noah had to make sure it was enough animals on the ark to make offerings to the Lord.

I knew people who tithed & are still broke & struggling financially. They had their utilities turned off and didn't have money to pay their insurance, but they had to pay their tithes. Please don't anyone come with the "they must have been mismanaging their money." This is what these tele-liars tell folk - 60 yrs later folks still waiting for the windows of heaven to open up for them. Show me anyone that was blessed so much from tithing that they didn't have enough room to receive the abundance.
