I created a Peter Steele slideshow a while back but it was blocked and now that Peter is gone I see it as only fitting to create another. Peter Steele was a great musician and a great person all around. I had the priveledge of meeting him (and other band members) backstage after a concert on October 26, 2009. He smelled of fresh cologne after a shower and had a camo-type jacket on (the one seen in a couple of the pictures on here). He had just gotten off of drugs and alcohol and looked to be in excellent condition. I'm happy to have met him. He autographed my body and I got it tattood as soon as I woke up and got ready the next day. He was a funny guy and very kind-hearted and I still can't believe he is no longer with us. He died too soon and at such a young age. Let us all pay tribute to one of the greatest musicians ever - Peter Steele.

Don't know if it was drugs that caused his death, but it's a sad day. He will live through the music he created.

@Drizzlerman Quite possible - in my own theory, that is. Peter has been sober from drugs and alcohol but I think he just quit a bit too late. All of the cocaine usage has taken too much hold on his body.

I still can't hardly believe that our Dark Lord is gone...... its such an over whelm'g sadness, know'g that for all of us who deeply understood this band..... we go forward day 2 day & month 2 month with such emptiness now, that was once fulfilled by such a rare and talented band..... it's truly a loss that will be felt by all of us Type O Negative fans..... because after all..... we are a rare and committed family unit and 2 gether we will keep his memory Alive !!!!!! RIP Peter
