Activist and author Somaly Mam has rescued more than 6,000 girls in Southeast Asia from sexual slavery and helped many to rebuild their lives. She spoke on Sept. 30 at UCLA's law school on how to go beyond mere talk in the fight against predators and organized criminals. The discussion was presented by the International Human Rights Program of the UCLA School of Law and cosponsored with the UCLA Asia Institute, LexisNexis, the Public Interest Law and Policy Program, the International Human Rights Student Association, and the UCLA Journal for International Law and Foreign Affairs.
