Coming from the Carolinas, an area that also relies on farming, it saddens me to see California politicians care more about a minnow than their state's farmers.

I couldn't imagine Florida doing the same to their orange growers.

It would be a tragedy if we have to import the fruits and vegetables from other countries, that should be grown in California!

Delta smelt are preyed upon by larger fish, especially striped bass and largemouth bass which are invasive species in the Sacramento Delta. Sport Fishermen brought suit to turn off the water to the farmers because they wanted to have more Delta smelt to fatten up their invasive species for sport fishing. If we speak up or complain, they call us Astroturf People, Swastika wearing Nazis and stupid. What happened to For the People, By the People and Of the People. These elitist demigods must go.

You think you can eat and live without farmers? Where do your grocery stores get their supplies from? Do you like to eat?

Are you as foolish as Nancy Pelosi who believes we should import all food, "let the Mexicans and Chinese farmers do it!"?? Factories will pollute the air more. What manufacturing jobs could produce food like farming?

What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with illegal immigration. This has something to do with the livelihood of farmers, everyone allied to farming, and anyone who eats!

The Central Valley is the richest agricultural area in the United States. Without our produce, food prices will rise. Our exports are going to be reduced.

The economy is already plummeting due to the Obama policies and you want farms to remain fallow?

Good for them....Finally the democratic leadership steps up and does something to push mexicans back to mexico. Who wants to stay in towns that offer 40% and growing unemployment. The farmers will be ok. The sooner these feild workers figure out a better economy is waiting for them back home the better! I always thought it would be the Replublicans to finally get control of illegal alians.
