To all parents out there, your children will not forget where they came from. I am a 19 year old college freshman, and my choir is practicing this song. Every time I hear it and sing it, I cannot help but fall into a trance as I think back on all the good memories from home. It nearly brings me to tears. If my mother were ever to write a song, this would be it. I love my family and I hear this calling constantly. Praying that all children hear this calling and come back home someday soon!
This is one of the most evocative songs I've ever heard. I loved performing it to the greatest extent. I can't imagine hearing it after becoming a parent. I love this song but I hope that I don't hear this song for a couple decades and can experience it as a loving parent and hopefully it will change my life once again.
My school's choir has been practicing this furiously. I simply cannot wait to actually perform it. My grandmother passed this September and I wish she would have lived to watch me perform this. It means the world to me that you uploaded such a spectacular performance of this extremely moving song. Great performance.
I'm sure I played this piece ( by Chanticleer) 10,000 times while our boys were away getting their undergrad degrees then medical school and , finally, residency. It took them each thirteen years to complete. Now they have finished and those two little boys we love so much are MD's. Their Mom and I are older now but very happy. Can one ask for anything in life that is more meaningful than having happy children? I hope they never forget their humble beginings.
