Two Bloomsburg police officers acted properly when they responded to a call for a fight last weekend according to Police Chief Leo Sokoloski in an interview with WBRE-TV.
The incident happened around 2:00 A.M. Sunday in the 500 block of East Street. When officers arrived they found at least 5 people fighting and screaming at each other. One of them had a handgun as shown in footage provided to police by BloomUtoday.
As officers tried gaining control of the situation a young woman was pushed to the ground and struck her head. The fight and the shove was recorded on cell phone video given to WBRE. It appears one of the officers pushed the woman, but Chief Sokoloski says an enhanced version of the video shows a second woman actually pushed her backwards. Sokoloski told the I-Team, "At first glance in a knee-jerk reaction is looks like one of the officers pushes her but then you can see the shove was actually made by the second woman. We stand by our officers who were outnumbered at the scene and did the right thing as they tried to protect themselves and the public."
Sokoloski also said, "We have not received any complaints but anyone who ever feels they were not treated properly by our officers can file a complaint with our department." Sokoloski said that three of the people involved in the brawl, including the women involved in the shoving incident, will be cited with disorderly conduct.
BloomUtoday was able to piece all the footage together which is shown after the WBRE report to show the entire perspective of the incident. The video footage shown after the WBRE report shows a group fighting on cell phone video and the police officer response. A gun that was found on the ground by one officer can also be seen in BloomUtoday footage that was not aired at the time of the WBRE report.

  • what you see is no what you see lmfao! stupid cops stick up for eachother filing a compliant against a cop is silly the only way to deal with these fucks is total destruction.

  • ShUT your TRAP !! real proffessional !! whats really sad is the cell phone footage is better than the cop car footage !

  • My favorite part of this video is the female at the end with the dark hair, who screams "I'm a fuckin cop" earlier in the video, is a Scranton Police Officer who has been off injured for almost her entire 2-3 year career. What a joke collecting workers comp, getting in fights and now they are laying off cops.
