Webb Delivers Floor Remarks on Taxpayer Fairness Act

March 4, 2010 - Senator Webb delivers remarks on the Senate floor in support of his legislation, the Taxpayer Fairness Act. The measure puts a one-time windfall tax on 2009 bonuses above $400,000 paid to executives of financial institutions that received $5 billion or more in taxpayer support from the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). It would raise billions of dollars toward reducing the deficit and offsetting the costs of pending legislation.
