I don't understand why white played fxg7, and also why he moved his black bishop so much. Why not 25.g6 and 26.h5?

30 .. Rxc4 seems intuitively bad to me (i'm not that good and no engines though:) - if you retake with the pawn you open up a new diagonal for rook checks after perhaps Ba8 ..could somebody engine check this? :)
