"War criminal" is just an agreement between "Allied Powers" and Japan. And Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and People' Republic of China are not included "Allied Powers" in the above.

If they claim for visiting Yasukuni, we can say "it is none of your business!"

I would say that Emperor dont visit Yasukuni just because of political reasons. You know doing such visit will just hurt the feelings of Koreans and Chinese and it is not good to hurt their feelings because one depend from another and vice versa. This has nothing to do with war criminals because He was visiting the shrine even after the WWII.

Yes, you are right. In USA, UK, France, they all learn the colonial history. But during Cold War, USA protected Japan and allowed Japanese conservatives to whitewash history or ignore history of WW2.

So, today, many Japanese have an unclear historical vision, which is also altered by certains aspects of Japanese culture, such as conformism, xenophobia and patriotism.
