Why do you Americans always put God everywhere?
-
You rape the song of our country and our struggles when you put your fucking murdering tribal god in every line in the song. We don't owe anything to god, it was finnish men and women that sacrificed their lives, not god.
-
my grandfather was in finnish war and he sayed to me 1 think(he never talk a about a war)he died a 20 years ago?we fight like a finnish people do,but i'll never feeling so bad in battlefield(don'tmean a bf3!)because i'll have to shot a horse!(and the enemy russian soldier)he talk about the horse was most important that soldier he killed!it was hard times!

They sound kinda bored....
-
@Mtaalas yup. stupid. the finnish lyrics are about freedom and independence and patriotism.

O,Finland, behold, your day is dawning,The threat of night has been banished away,And the lark of morning in the brightness sings,As though the very firmament would sing. The powers of the night are vanquished by the morning light,
Your day is dawning, O land of birth.
O, rise, Finland, raise up high
Your head, wreathed with great memories.
O, rise,Finland, you showed to the world
That you drove away the slavery,
And that you did not bend under oppression,
Your day has come,O land of birth.
-
This is just sad... since the original Finnish version has nothing to do with gods. :(

Finland is the best place in the world!! <3 Pen name "I live in there!"

Brilliant!!! You're absolutely incredible...and not once except for the first few notes did i hear the piano. I will be looking for more of your video recordings!
The Finnish lyrics that we most respond to have no mention of god or gods. Its about struggle for freedom, away from the night of slavery.

Oh no!! What's this?! You've ruined Finlandia with these horrible American overzealous lyrics. Finlandia is about Fiinland, about it's history, it's battles and the victories won in the battle for freedom. It's about the Finnish people, not about God. We did great things ourselves, not because God was there. We are Finns because of those Finnish men who fought and died in horrible wars against an overwhelming enemy. And this song is also about thanking those men. God I hate God being everywhere.
