This is Aaron Thomas playing on the Hammond Elegante XH-273 Organ. He Demonstrates how the organ sounds through its internal speakers. Adding a leslie 971 and 525 speaker will allow the organ to sound like a real Hammond Tonewheel organ such as the H-100, B-3/C-3, A-100, and D-100. Aaron Thomas is a outstanding artist and has played in many churches and concert halls. He has been an Hammond Artist Representative for years.

Special thanks to Hammond Suzuki for making this great organ, Fish Organs for their video and audio, and Aaron Thomas for his great gospel artistry.

  • You can play your butt off...but that organ is missing something. It has a jive sound and need to back up and get some soul!

  • @Tinamoe74 what you mean by that.

  • what would Lenny Dee have thought of these ?

  • @john6218att He probably would have liked them

  • @Tinamoe74 Yep it needed an external Leslie.

  • @patsaxon When this organ was designed in 1997, most computers didn't even have USB... it was just barely on the market. These organs won't be updated. As you know, Hammond has pulled out of the home organ market in 2007, taking the XH, XT and XE models out of production. They only do toneweels clones now. (Apart from the SK1 and 2, who have some extra voices, like the Roland VK8 / VK88)

  • Real tone wheel sound is very important to most players. How does this compare to other models ( clone wheels, 81' Elegante etc.)? I'm a strictly organ player, but I can see the desire for all of these sounds. Of course if you just want a great organ get a Hammond tone wheel console, right. Remember, 'old organs' aren't any more 'out dated' than an old guitar or violin. They designed the electromechanical organs such as the Hammond tone wheel , and Wurlitzer electrostatic reeds to last forever!

  • It needs to updated with USB and CD ROM drive, plus touch screen technology. It still uses the old 3 1/2 floppy drive disk.

  • nice chord changes.like it

  • Hello,

I am sure, the "New Elegante" has so much I miss in my "Old Elegante", but I prefer the organ-sound of my old one. All my YouTube uploads I made with the built-in Leslie ( I have no other ). Come on my site and hear, there is a difference!

    Best wishes, William.

  • @friendlytecy Actually, I think you would enjoy the organ hearing it throught a external leslie.
