Simply enjoying some late season sunshine, thought why not answer some questions. I wear as much as I can, a reasonably minimalist type footwear offered by Terra Plana. The style name is 'Old Street', I don't think this model is offered anymore, though the sole type most certainly is. The design closest replacing this high top is called the Dalston. While nothing really is the same as walking/running barefoot as doing just such, these shoes allow most of the freedom going sans shoes while still being acceptable in a office environment. The soles are perhaps 3 or so millimeters thick, and are very flexible, as demonstrated. One can feel the tiniest pebble underfoot, so well do the soles conform to the surface. They are wide enough in the toe area so your feet/toes can splay and adjust to surfaces well. They do come with removable inserts for somebody just starting out with minimalist footwear to get used to such. Beginners will feel it in their calves and thighs the first week or so. After that you get used to landing and taking off on the balls of your feet. The downside, these shoes can be pricey - look for specials at www.vivobarefoot.com - but again to the shoes they seem to stand up well, I run, and do some light longboarding with them. I have a winter type pair now, called Franklins. I'll be saying some words on these before too long, this amendment done on December 3rd, 2011
@sunflowerorange An amendment to my response given to you perhaps a week ago, found the booklet given with these shoes, they are called 'Old Street' by the manufacturer.

@sunflowerorange Other post did not go through I think. Stinking Google. They are called 'Old School' by Vivo Barefoot, and are taking everything I can do to them, except not drying them properly if gotten soaked, even then, wearing them revives them well along with silicone spray. Terra Plana changes styles like Nike does, only for the sake of change. Try Zappos to see if any are still left, they were offered by Terra Plana until 4 or so years ago.

What model are these? I've never seen them before, they must be an old model!

@lolMyke They work very well, and there are styles/models that can take the elements better then these. The ones featured here are fine for dry conditions.
