This is the Annie & Mac arrangement of an old folk tune that was popularized in bluegrass by Bill and Charlie Monroe. Wade Ward recorded a fine clawhammer banjo arrangement on an old Folkways record.

Hi Annie and Mac! I'm learning this tune. Great arrangement. Are you in 2C tuning? ....with a capo on the 2nd fret?

@mioumiou88 Thanks for your message. The tuning is 2C bumped up 2 frets to make it 2D. It's one of my favorite tunes.

If you ever found yourself in a banjo duel with patrick costello over who has the better clawhammer videos, I'd say you take the cake.

What kind of banjo is that, custom? Rods? Size? I like it a lot.

The banjo is a Vega II by Deering. If you go to the Deering site they have all the specs. Thanks for your message - I'm glad Patrick Costello and I are on the same side promoting all styles of banjo playing!
