My cat gets... SHAVED... part one.

So its the summer time, and its time for my cat Tango to be shaved. He's really old, and his fur gets matted more easily now.

In fact, he actually pulls out his fur and leaves it in clumps around the house during the summer because he gets so hot. Sometimes he attempts to lick it off which is also not a good thing. Not only is this discusting, but its really bad for him AND our other cat as well, who likes to help him groom himself from time to time. Its not fun to have to clean up the fur all around the house, and we would rather NOT have either of our cats throwing up hairballs.

Considering how old he is, how uncomfortable his fur makes him during the summer, and his lack of pyshical activity, this is probably the best option for him.

No matter how often you brush him, there will ALWAYS be more fur, and no one in our household has time to brush a cat 24/7.

Do haircuts kill you? No, I didn't think so.

My Mom is holding him, a pet groomer is shaving him, and my friend was using my camera. I was...in the back. xD haha.

Oh by the way, No one is making you watch this, so if you don't like it, don't watch it! Its that simple, really. I don't need comments about how We're such terrible owners, because we're not. Tango is one of our two cats, and we don't neglect them, we feed them, take them to the vet, make sure they have water, and change the kitty litter regularly. Our cats are both indoor for the most part, but if its a nice day, they like to be outside.

I've had this cat for 13 years, and he's still doing just fine. He stays inside most of the day and sleeps anyway.

@Twgatana Tango's fur is so thick that brushing him really doesn't do a whole lot. He actually starts pulling out his fur, and the Vet is the one who suggested he get a haircut for health reasons.

He actually does enjoy these haircuts. For the first few days, he prances around the house and is so much happier without all that thick heavy fur weighing him down anymore.

Many cats are unable to properly care for themselves and we can greatly help them by making them feel so much better by doing this. In fact, the cat appears to be calm and actually enjoy it's hair cut.
