Home movie footage from fishing trips in the 1960's. My maternal grandfather and my father with friends at Cape Point ( The Point) in Buxton, NC. They most often stayed at the Tower Circle Motel - a humble yet special spot that eventually my family would visit every summer in the 70's and 80's. Long after these man-trips, my Grandfather and Grandmother traveled to fish together there up to 3 times a year Fall , Spring and Summer. Dad sure knew how to sport a hat. Tower Circle is still owned / operated by the same family for 40 years

  • Spent many summers fishing this exact locatin with my father. We camped at Buxton and were there for 17 summers fishing and camping jsut across the dunes at thepoint. I couldn't begin to imagine the number of flounder and blues we caught on lite takle. Great video post and a reminder of some of the best times in my life! Thanks for posting this classic on youtube!

  • @dalehilltopfarm Thanks..It was a part of my growing up too.. We used to occasionally give campers rides to the point.. Did you know that the environmental groups are step by step shutting this entrire beach down to fisherman and other recreational access? Look for "Piping Mad" documentary on Youtube.
