Oh nice. I could have sworn it was Debussy was my first guess. Then I rented the DVD again 2 weeks ago and saw both Debussy, Mendelssohn, and Wagner credited with music. It's been too long since i took music history, haha.

Found it! It's "The Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave) Op. 26" by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
