I had the opportunity to test drive a 2005 Subaru Outback Legacy Wagon. This H4 engine provided enough power to tool around the areas I wanted to go that day in the rain. Although it was a 4 cylinder engine it is limited on towing your favorite sports toys. The vehicle was very clean inside providing the appointed feel of a high end luxury car similar to a Lexus ES model. Even though the model I drove had 84,000 miles on it, it sounded strong. There was a noticeable sound in the front end that without inspection had sounds of a tie-rod or steering issue.

These vehicles are great in those climates where snow could be an issue. The under body clearance is enough to get you through your more than normal snow.

Toss a bike rack on the mini tow bar ore just throw a few kayaks on top and you a great outdoor travel companion. I liked the height of the vehicle just for that reason. I'm 5'8" and I wouldn't have to struggle to get anything on or off the top rails.

So if you are looking for a strong rugged stylish wagon that you could keep for years and years I'd take the time to look at one of these.

  • II'm with you there. But then again it all depends on where you are in life. The utility aspect of the car is really nice. Camping, hauling, dogs, or whatever else. This car has a market and supplies the industry well. Thanks for the comment.

  • was the ride quiet? thanks

  • @AyashiFX55 It was a nice ride and as quiet as it could in the rain

  • are u serious.....Washington?? I'm guessing you haven't driven around the northeast ever....LOL....it's called a Boxer engine, hence the was it looks man, you should research these things before you test drive them, it would be more helpful to people watching, not trying to be a jerk here either, just a suggestion

  • @Mrjmoyer78 Funny you must not read. These are on the fly test drives and I have no time to prepare. You are correct I've not been throughout the Northeast, however I have been out west and every other person owns one there. Thanks for the comment.
