I have sung Banquo at the 5th International Verdi Congress at Danville, KY in 1978. It was in English and in THE ORIGINAL 1847(?) VERSION, which was forbidden by Verdi after he revised the opera. I must say,(not only because I DID the orig.vers.) that after seeing and hearing MANY other "revised" vers's I prefer the original. Banquo's music is not changed at all, but the rest of the opera (sans "Luce langue") is more exciting, more compact.
