  • Wow, there's where Ween got "Dancing in the show tonight."

  • She had a wonderful voice quality just perfect for the songs she sung. Especially "I want a hippopotumus for Christmas" absolutely endearing!

  • I had this record when I was only 5 years old (I'm 63 now) and played both sides over & over & over again on my little singles record player. Surpised I didn't drive my parents "nuts" or maybe I did, LOL. Mom said I wore the record out. Many years later I would sing this song and the Hippopotamus song to my kids every single year. Sometimes it was even Christmas when I would start singing one of 'em. So happy to hear the song by Gayla again.

  • As an actress, every time I go before the camera, I usually sing the first lines of this song "Are my ears on straight is my nose in place?" And no-one ever gets it. They think I'm a little strange How wonderful to find this here and know I wasn't remembering a song that never existed! I too had it on a childhood record!

  • OH MY GOD WEEN COVERED THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My Dad bought My Sister that record when she was little, She discovered the B side and played it over and over. I never saw this as I popped out 18 years after the birth of my Sister, No that's not a typo, Mum and Jan would tell me the story sometimes. Sadly My Sister was diagnosed with cancer and though she fought hard, she lost the fight in September. This song will always remind me of her.

  • I remember this song!!

  • ribmans woman looked for this song for years thanx.

  • Gayla became Joanne Campbell in the 1960's and had a hit, at least in Australia, called 'Kooky Little Paradise'.

  • my dad went to coney island to record one of those 78's that was bigger than my head. it mysteriously disappeared during husband #2. thanks so much for giving it back.
