There was a story written about the Avengers going to Asgard. I think 2 stories have been done in fact. Marvel seems to be afraid of "magic" so in its films, super science has been used.

@kev3d Obviously they don't stick to the original comic stories but generally seem to be better written than most of the stuff put out by DC. My brother saw Thor, Xmen first class, and Capt. America and liked all 3, I haven't seen any of these yet so don't know I'm sure they are far different than the comics though.

@Torvar2025 Loki is an Asgardian so has beyond normal strength and speed, etc. however because of the Super soldier formula so does Capt. however with Loki's powers of illusion, telepathy, disguise etc. advantage should still be by far to Loki.

@hydrolito I was referring to the ridiculous costumes, the banal characters, the un-terrifying bad guy and, if the latest comic book movies are any indication; bad writing. That may be a lot to assume from a small, out of context clip but for me it confirms my suspicions. I refuse to be burned by yet another Marvel franchise.

@dakingisback253 Archie series comics had a guy called the Shield with red, white and blue costume before Capt. America. DC version of Capt. America is called he Guardian. Other similar characters at DC are Uncle Sam, Wonder Woman, Americommando all dressed in red, white, and blue. Commander Steel mostly red costume with blue and white.both had Miss Americas. Marvel also had the Patriot, Bucky, and Iron Patriot. I think there were also some others but don't recall their names.
