City of Siem Reap in Cambodia

Siem Reap is een forse stad in Cambodja; toch doet het geheel nog steeds kleinschalig aan. Het is er lekker Aziatisch rommelig; honderden brommertjes, fietsen, voetgangers, tuktuks, auto's, taxi's en bussen rijden allemaal langs elkaar op de toch vrij brede wegen van deze stad. Vroeger was Siem Reap een klein dorp; dat langszaam uitgroeide tot een van de toeristische centra van het land.

Nestled between rice paddies and stretched along the Siem Reap River, the small provincial capital of Siem Reap Town serves as the gateway to the millennium-old temple ruins of the Khmer Empire. Siem Reap Town is where you will stay during your visit to Angkor. The area has been receiving foreign visitors to the temples for over 100 years.
