SOUNDING THE ALARM AND PROMOTING AWARENESS OF HEMOCHROMATOSIS.
As described in the best seller, " THE BRONZE KILLER" by Marie Warder .
JUNE 1980. The first ever mention of the disease on television. Interview with Ida Clarkson of Chek TV, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Much has been added to what was known in 1980. The gene has been mapped, and it has been proved that carriers can also be affected, especially with the joint disease suffered by individuals with the full-blown disease.
I'm a 64 year old female and I've just received my DNA results yesterday which tested positive for Hereditary Hemochromatosis...searching for more information on this disease I was fortunate to find this series on YouTube; Hemochromatosis Awareness and which contains invaluable information in layman's language for any one with this disorder or any one who knows some one with this disease...and this shouldn't be too difficult as we learn just how common this disease is (1 in 300 caucasians). Thnx
