The Origin of "Potvin Sucks"

Rangers fans have chanted "Potvin sucks" after a few short whistles for as long as I can remember. They do this whistle n' chant at least a half dozen times per game...every game at Madison Square Garden. I was never really sure where and why the chant originated. In fact, I used to think it had to do with Felix Potvin. Ignorant, I know. But here is the brief story behind the legendary chant.

The ice time leader on a 4 time Stanley Cup champion. Certainly one of the best defencemen of all time.
