Please indulge me with me on this one and excuse the filming. We stopped to watch the gliders on the road near Kinneswood in Fife today, after a visit to Falkland Palace. I used to cycle here, as a laddie, to watch these magnificent machines move effortlessly around the sky. (That was 50 years ago-I couldn't cycle the round trip of 25miles now). I found the wee cam corder difficult to use as one has to look at its screen to point it in the right direction. You will notice that its a fine sunny day with lots of white cumulus clouds and this made picking the gliders up, hard. Add to this the distance and the fact that I am standing on a busy road (it wasn't like that in olden times) and my plea for mitigation might draw some sympathy. I've decided to keep this small effort to remind me of past memories the likes of which steered me on a lifetime's interest in all types of aircraft.

How kind of you to send this offer. I have no immediate plans to revisit your area but might, just might, make an exception. As an ex RAF Cadet (Kirkcaldy 1192 squadron - circa 1960) I once got the chance to go for gliding instruction. Wish I had done it. Now at 63 its too late but it would be great to observe these magnificent machines at close range. Thank you for sending this. Bob McDowall
