Too stiff and formal- not enough vibrancy, passion and energy, Compare with Newcastle Country dancers version.

What a beautiful example of English Country Dance and Playford. For the edification of some here, these Country dances were done by all classes, you can make it as formal and aristocratic as you wanted to. But in this example the dancers ignored their partners and other dancers in their set. No flirting or enjoyment is evident. Pay more attention to your partner!!!

this is a communal understanding way of dancing, it shows people have to be in tune and pattern with one another to get that emensity of dancing. not like today dancing is vain for one self. but then again only pompus rich aristocrats who raided and pillaged had the time to dance like that in the past!!!! that right?
